MS-371 Introduction to Unix
Lab #4 - File System Attributes

Date:    Monday, January 17, 2005
Due:     Wednesday, January 26, 2005

Prelude

Unix and Linux systems are very commonly used as servers on a network (web servers, database servers, file servers, etc.).  Quite frequently, there is no graphical user interface (GUI) available on these servers; the user has only a standard terminal or console interface.  Administrators for these systems invariably need to be able to manipulate all types of entries in the file system without the benefit of any graphical user interface.  This assignment helps to sharpen user skills with manipulating files from the command line.
