It has been a little while since I last wrote and a lot has been going on. I will try to share how this year has been going without boring you all to death. As I start to organize my thoughts I am beginning to feel overwhelmed by all that I should say. I guess this means I will just have to type fast to keep up with my mind.

I moved into the dorms on Labor Day September 1. It was kinda nice to move in early and not deal with all the move-in traffic. That first day I spent much of my time getting things organized and updating the InterVarsity website. I also had a bible study with Ross. The next day I began the exciting week of being an OA (Orientation Assistant). On Tuesday we spent the day training and getting to know one another. In the afternoon we went to the Murphy House and enjoyed some great time on the beach. It was so nice to get to know people and catch up with old friends without all the pressures of school. While I was away, my roommate Scott moved it. This was very cool as we now had a loft and recliners, which made for a nice setup.

The next day we continued our training. On Thursday, I spent the morning helping new students move into the dorms. In the afternoon, I had peer mentors training. This was a lot of fun as I know most of the peer mentors. I also ended up being on a mentor team with Professor Ficken and Ross Huntley. Then in the evening I went to the Outdoor showing of Lord of the Rings. On Friday I began my first day of working as an OA. I helped with registration much of the morning and part of the afternoon. Then I assisted with the fish fry and finished the day off by going to the Brewers game. This was a lot of fun and even though the Brewers lost I still had a really great time with the other OAs.

On Saturday, I had the first opportunity to meet the mentees at the mentor breakfast. Later in the day I helped direct people, lead a VIP orientation session for freshmen and helped at the President's Picnic.

On Sunday, I worked at the farwell brunch in the morning. Then in the afternoon, we went to Hunter's house for a returning student Shinding. The rest of the day was spent preparing for classes and with a floor meeting. After the floor meeting we sat around and watched the movie Super Troopers. The Dorm Storm was a time where we went around the dorms and personally invited everyone to the Unkegger and shared with them about InterVarsity.

Well that's it for the summer, tomorrow morning classes start bright and early.
