The Duster (1972 Plymouth Duster)
General Information
This was my first car and was purchased in June of 1999. It has been my main summer driver ever since I bought it. It is the typical "little old lady" story, but this one is actually true! She attended the same church I did and I had admired it in the church parking lot many times. In her 90s she decided she was getting too old to drive, so she put it up for sale and I snatched it up. It's an original Wisconsin car, but because it was taken care of and it was barely used in the Winter it isn't a rust bucket. I purchased it with 49,000 original miles on it (somewhere north of 61,000 now). I haven't found a buildsheet for it (haven't really looked), although I do have the original Chrysler trash bag that the dealership gave the original owner! It still has it's original paint and other than the minor rust and a small crease in a front fender (maybe it was a good thing she decided to give up driving!) the body is in good condition. Since I've been daily driving it, it has also acquired quite a few door dings, but I won't go in to that...
