Elijah X Mission

In order to locate the payload when nearby, a hunting dog collar was purchased from Gun Dog Supply.  This collar was equipped with a sounding device that could be heard from 400 yards away.  Once turned on, the collar would emit a loud sound every ten seconds when in motion, and constantly when not moving.  The sounding device was attached to the tracking capsule.

Elijah 1 Mission

The Elijah 1 mission used a simple sounding alarm to help the tracking team to locate the payload once on the ground.  The alarm was triggered by a timing circuit, so that it would begin going off roughly three hours after launch.
