Content changes:

• Updated for Wildfire (Table of Contents and Preface Chapter by Chapter Changes).

• New text and accompanying graphics on how to sketch and dimension.

• A new tutorial on using points in the Sketcher.

• New tutorials on Copy Translation and Copy Rotate.

• New tutorials on dealing with a failed feature.

• Objectives clearly listed at the beginning of each tutorial.

• Images of the various tools and icons added inline with the text for all tutorials (see example).

• Three new assemblies (Vise, Butterfly Valve and Hold Down Clamp) along with associated parts.

• New homework problems.

• Updated graphics for homework problems (including multi-views see example ).

• List of parts and assemblies with their related tutorials (useful for planning which tutorials to work through in order to complete a given part or assembly).

Reorganization changes:

• The tutorial on the option Redefine moved to Chapter 2 ( teaches the student early on how to deal with errors that occur during the construction of a feature).

• Visualization techniques such as drawings, dimensioning and tolerancing moved to earlier chapters to help students master them before moving on to more advanced modeling techniques. 

• Chapter on Patterns, Copy, Group and UDF introduced earlier so that students may use these techniques for advanced modeling.
